Please note that our workshops for this next cycle have switched to Wednesdays at the request of many people who can’t make it to the Thursday workshops. We hope this helps, and we look forward to seeing you at the workshops!

So many of the ideas we have when it comes to writing for children are inspired by real life events. The challenge is turning those moments of inspiration into a manuscript that has widespread appeal to publishers and readers who have no connection to those events so that you can SELL YOUR STORY!

If you’re like to learn to use your real life inspirations to create engaging stories for children that you can SELL then you will likely find our upcoming workshop – Writing From Real Life - beneficial to you!

The workshop will take place in downtown Vancouver (Seymour & Nelson) from 6pm-9pm on Thursday, June 24 2010. Spaces are limited.

How do I join SCBWI?

To join SCBWI you need to visit the main SCBWI website and look in their “About SCBWI” section. Then you will see the “JOIN NOW” button in the upper-right corner of the webpage. Once you’ve followed the directions there, you can contact SCBWI Canada West (see SCBWI West website for contact information).

What if I need to send something away before your next workshop?
